The renowned and delicious biscotti known as “Roti Kok” was beloved by many back in the 1960s. Its name “Tongkat” comes from the Malay word for “stick.” During that era, bread was often shaped like sticks to cater to children’s tastes, while adults enjoyed dipping it into coffee, tea, or Milo, enhancing their breakfast or afternoon tea experience.
After extensive research to trace the origins of this recipe, paired with the Gula Melaka, Malaya Bread Factory is pleased to reintroduce the legendary flavor of “Roti Kok,” evoking fond childhood memories for many.
