Young Tan Kim Hock took on many trades to make ends meet,
until the coconut tree changed his course.
From coconut nectar to gula melaka and kuih kacau,
his craft spread by word of mouth,
earning him the name “The Dodolman in Malacca”.
Little did he know, he was making more than a living —
he was making a name in Melaka.
